2015 Best Places to Live in Canada

In 2015 MoneySense named Thunder Bay, ON as the best place to live in Canada, stating that the average home price in 2014 was $208,705. The rankings are based on housing value, price momentum, economic strength and rental income potential.

They ranked best places to retire in Canada using criteria such as great access to health care, decent weather and low crime rates. Kingston, ON was named as #1 Best Place to retire in Canada. Also in the top 5 were, Ottawa, ON, Burlington, ON, Rimouski, QC, Monction, NB. (2014 rankings).

The 5 top rankings for best place to raise kids in Canada (2014) are, ranked from #1 to #5, Calgar, AB, Blainville, QC, Strathcona County AB, Levis QC

The Reader's Digest named Sherbrooke, QC as the best place to raise kids in the country, stating Sherbrooke has some of the lowest rates of child and partner crime, great access to mom groups and daycares, and the province has a 18-week maternity leave policy. Also in the top 5 best places to raise kids in Canada were, Ottawa, Guelph, Calary and Windsor.

March 2015: global business consultant Mercer's survey, places Vancouver as top city in North America for quality of life, stating that Canada continues to offer a high quality of living for residents and expatriate employees. In North America Ottawa ranked #2, Toronto #3 and Montreal #4. Globally, Vancouver ranked #5.
